Airforce X group

The air force X group is one part of those who are ranked below the officers. However, airmen who are included in the X group are those who operate the technical operations. Our defense academy is known for delivering quality faculty and professionals who are experts in training students to get a job in the air force. The X group includes officers like propulsion fitter, electrical fitter, airframe fitter as well as a mechanical fitter. Thus, to get a surety job into the airforce X group, visit us without any hesitation.

Airforce Y group

Airforce Y is another part of those who are ranked below the officers. The members of this group are designated for operating the non-technical jobs that include administrative, accounts, logistics, operation as well as the medical assistants. Moreover, we also provide experienced teachers and trainers who are known for delivering excellent training to the students to get admission into the airforce Y group. Hence, people from all over India visit our defense academy for training to get admission into the air force. We also offer classroom programs as well as special classes for the students to solve their doubts.

Students joining the Apex Defence Academy, Jaipur will be screened for their eligibility prior to admission. They will undergo an initial examination as well as a medical examination to ascertain their eligibility for joining the defence forces.

Indian Air Force usually announces vacancies for airmen for X and Y group in June and December (Twice in a year). The process of selection is followed by three Phases and at the end the final merit list of selected candidates is issued.

Online Test: Eligible candidates will be sent Provisional Admit Cards for Phase-I of testing on their respective e-mail IDs.

  • Group ‘X’ Trades: Duration of the online test shall be 60 minutes {70 Questions (English-20, Physics-25 & Maths-25)} and shall comprise of English, Physics and Mathematics as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus.
  • Group ‘Y’ Trades: Duration of the online test shall be 45 minutes {50 Questions( English-20 & RAGA-30)} and shall comprise of English as per 10+2 CBSE Syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).
  • Both Group ‘X&Y’ Trade: Duration of the online test shall be 85 minutes {100 Questions (English-20, Physics-25,Maths-25 & RAGA-30) and shall comprise of English, Physics & Mathematics as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).

Note: Marking Pattern and Online Test:- (i) One mark for every correct answer. (ii) Nil (0) marks for every unattempted question. (iii) 0.25 marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer.

Note: CANDIDATES ATE TO QUALIFY IN EACH PAPER SEPARATELY IN THEIR RESPECTIVE GROUPS.

Soon after the declaration of the result of Phase-I test, all candidates shortlisted for Phase-II will be sent a new admit card on their registered e-mail ID for Phase-II. Candidate have to report at the stipulated date and time for Phase-II at the designated Airmen Selection Centre along with following documents:-

  • Colour printout of Admit Card for Phase-II
  • Colour Printout of duly filled application form downloaded on completion of online registration.
  • HB pencil, Eraser, Sharpener, Glue sick, Stapler and Black/Blue Ball Point Pen for writing.
  • Eight copies of un-attested recent (which were used for the online application registration) passport size colour photograph.
  • Original and four self attested photocopies of Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent Examination Passing Certificate and Marks Sheet.
  • Certificate of SOAF (Son of Air Force Personnel)-If applicable.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT) – Names of the shortlisted candidates who qualify the Online Test shall be called at designated Airmen Selection Centre for Physical Fitness Test which would consist of –

  • 1.6 Km run to be completed within 6 minutes 30 seconds.
  • 10 Push-ups
  • 10 Sit-ups
  • 20 Squat-ups

Note:- Candidates are advised to bring their sports shoes and shorts/Track pants.

Adaptability Test-I – All candidates who pass the Physical Fitness Test shall have to undertake Adaptability Test-I. This will be an MCQ Test of Psychology based on SRT (Situation Reaction Test)

Adaptability Test-II – All candidates who pass Adaptability Test-I shall have to undertake Adaptability Test-II. There will be a Group Discussion or Debate

Note: The upper age limit on date of enrolment is 21 years.

Age : 17- 21 Years

Education Qualification : Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

OR

Passed 3 years Diploma Course in Engineering in any stream, as shown below, from a Government recognized Polytechnic Institute with 50% marks in aggregate, and 50% marks in English in Diploma or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course.

GROUP ‘Y’Trades (Except Med Asst and Musician)

Note: The upper age limit on date of enrolment is 21 years.

Age : 17- 21 Years

Should have passed Class 10 + 2/Intermediate/Equivalent exam from an education board / Institute listed in Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) website as members, in any stream/subjects with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English as per the mark sheet of Class 10 + 2 / Intermediate /Equivalent exam.

To get selected as an Airman, the candidate must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duties in any part of the world, climate and terrain. Physical/Medical Standards to become an Airman are as follows:-

Visual Standards and Height

As per the table given below.

Weight

Weight should be proportionate to height and age.

Chest

Minimum range of expansion : 5 cm

Hearing

Should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters by each ear separately.

Dental

Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points.

Health

Candidates should be of normal anatomy without loss of any appendages. He should be free from all communicable diseases & skin ailments. Candidate must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.

Body Tattoo

Permanent body tattoos are not permitted, however tattoos only on inner face of the fore arms(inside of elbow to the wrist), back(dorsal) part of the hand/reverse side of the palm and Tribals with tattoos which are as per custom Traditions of their tribes may be considered. However, right to decide on acceptability /unacceptability of the individual rests with the Selection Centre. Candidates with permanent body tattoos are to submit two photographs(close up and distinct view) with details of size and type of the Tattoo.

  1. Minimum height acceptable for recruitment will be 152.5 cms. For the following trades the minimum required height (determined at training centres) would be as indicated:-

Note :
  1. a) Candidates should bring latest prescription and spectacle for corrected vision, if used. The prescription must bear the signature, stamp and registration number of Eye Specialist. Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) is not acceptable.
  2. b) Candidates are advised to get tartar & stains removed from their teeth before appearing for the online test. Ears should be free of wax.
